Ubuntu Touch smartphone arrives by the end of the year


Latest info from the world of Ubuntu and Canonical company are telling us that very soon (or finally) we will see a smartphone run by Ubuntu Touch operating system.

In the February this year Canonical has arranged a co-operation with Chinese company Meizu in creating a smartphone run by Ubuntu Touch. As it seems the latest Meizu MX4 smartphone will be the one that will finally bring Ubuntu to mobile phones. Even though numerous rumors have emerged around this, both companies remained silent.
However, now Meizu has “accidentally” confirmed how their MX4 will be ready by the end of December this year, and how it is based on Ubunut Touch OS.
When it comes to specs, Ubuntu Touch version will be the same as Android version.
So, first Ubuntu Touch smartphone will have octa-core MediaTek MT6595 and 2 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage. It will features main camera with 20.7 megapixels and front camera with 2 megapixels as well as IPS screen of 5.3 inches with resolution of 1920 x 1152 pixels.
Are Canonical plans for Ubunut Touch smartphone finally come to life, we will see in a few month, because December is not that far away.
